Goalside Privacy Policy

The short version

Your coaching stays yours. Session plans, pitches, reports, transcripts, reflections, notes and your squad are kept on your devices and in your own iCloud. We can't see them.
We hold only what runs your account: your sign-in, your profile and a record of your purchase.
We count how the app is used, such as which screens are opened, so we can make Goalside better. It never includes what you write, say or draw. We don't sell data or show adverts.
You're in control. You can see, correct or delete what we hold at any time.

We are the controller of the personal data described here, under the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What we collect

Your account: The account ID and email address from Sign in with Apple or Google (with Apple, this can be a private relay address), and your name if you share it. We never see your Apple or Google password.
Your profile: The course you chose (for example the UEFA B Licence), your County FA, your club or that you aren't at a club, and your device model, iOS version and app version. Your profile photo stays on your device.
Club requests: The name and town of a club you ask us to add.
Your purchase: When the App Store tells us of a purchase or refund: the product, price, currency and date. Apple takes the payment; we never see your card details.
How the app is used: Which screens and features are used, and how long sessions in the app last. This is linked to your account so we can improve Goalside. It never includes what you write, say or draw.
Messages to us: If you email us, your email address and what you send.

What stays on your devices

Everything you make in Goalside is stored on your iPhone and iPad and in your own iCloud account, using Apple's CloudKit: session plans, your coaching log, reports, transcripts, reflections, pitch designs, notes, targets, your squad and player notes.

None of it is sent to our servers, and we can't open, read or recover it. Apple's iCloud terms and privacy policy cover how iCloud stores it. If you sign out of iCloud or delete the app without iCloud turned on, that content may be lost.

Live and your microphone

Live uses your iPhone's microphone only while you have a session running, and only after you allow it. Your speech is turned into text on your device by Apple's speech recognition, so Goalside can count your questions, praise and stoppages. No audio is saved. Only the text and the counts are kept, in your iCloud, and none of it is sent to us.

You can switch microphone access off at any time in your iPhone's Settings, under Goalside.

Why we use it

To run your account: Signing you in, keeping your profile and recording what you've bought. Our lawful basis is our contract with you.
To improve Goalside: Seeing which features are used, and which aren't, so we know what to fix and build next. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in making the app better; you can ask us to stop.
To reply to you: Answering your emails and support requests.
To meet the law: Keeping records we're legally required to keep.

We don't sell personal data, show adverts, track you across other apps and websites, or make automated decisions about you.

How long we keep it

Account and profile: Until you delete your account.
Usage: Up to 24 months.
Purchase records: Six years, for tax reasons.

You can delete your account at any time in Goalside, under Settings. That removes your account and usage data from our servers.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

show you the personal data we hold about you
correct it
delete it
stop or limit how we use it, or object to it
give it to you in a format you can take elsewhere

Email info@noormsystems.co.uk and we'll reply within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Children and your players

Goalside is for coaches aged 16 and over. If you add players to your squad, their details stay in your iCloud and are never sent to us. Please only add what you need, such as a first name and number.

If you coach children, you're responsible for handling their details in line with your club's and your County FA's safeguarding and data rules.

This website

This website doesn't use cookies, analytics or trackers. It remembers whether you chose the Light or Dark look in your own browser, and nothing else. Our host, Netlify, keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for security. Fonts load from Google Fonts, which sees your IP address when they do.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we use your data, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If a change matters, we'll tell you in the app first. Questions about this policy? Email info@noormsystems.co.uk.
